Russborough House and Demesne

Description: Russborough is an 18th century Palladian mansion set in its own 200 acres of parkland. It stands near the Blessington Lakes and Wicklow Mountains and was built with local granite in 1741. Important features include the colonnades ,20,000 sq. ft. head high Maze , 18th century riding school, stables, 18th century walled gardens, small lake , parkland vistas and magnificently decorated 18th century rooms in the house itself. Has featured in TV programmes ‘About the House’ and Nationwide’ and the 2012 dramatisation ‘Titanic- Blood and Steel’ as well as in films going back to the 1970’s eg. The Irish RM.
